A is for Anything by Katharina Barry. “N is for Newsboy / who’s not very tidy. / He brings Thursday’s newspaper / around on Friday.” A 1961 ABC picture book, using old wooden type. I’ve been spending the last eight months wondering why no one has bought this little gem. $39.

Once Upon an Alphabet by Oliver Jeffers. “N is for nearly nine thousand,” as in, this is how many envelopes will fit inside an elephant. $27.

A Little Princess and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, each illustrated by Tasha Tudor. Kanye West tried to snatch these from us. $20 each.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, signed by the author. “Holding Eleanor’s hand was like holding a butterfly. Or a heartbeat.” (Okay, not a Taylor Swift lyric, but come on — so lovely.)  $19.

The Third Plate by Dan Barber. Thorough and readable look at the future of food production without using buzzwords like “sustainable,” “organic,” or “Shake it off.” $30.
