We are located at 420 King St., near the corner of King and John, in the Upper King Design District, home to Charleston’s most authentic and most locally-owned stores.
Landmarks: BBB is halfway between Marion Square and Basil Thai restaurant, big green neon sign. Another good landmark is Rue de Jean restaurant, just around the corner.
Parking is fun! We recommend meters on King St., especially above John St. before 11:45 a.m. There are almost always spots on Meeting St. between John and Calhoun (near the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites), one long block away from us.
Don’t park off-street. Especially in the lot adjacent to us. Unless you paid an attendant for a spot, you will get towed or booted.
Meters. You get two hours at a meter, max. ($0.75/hr.). Watch out for red meters (fifteen min.), also 30-and 60-minuters. You only have to feed them 9 am – 6 pm, Mon. – Sat. Loading zones are usually cool after 7, Mon. – Sat., and all day Sunday.
Broken meters mean two hours free. You can still get a ticket for staying over (same as ‘meter feeding’).
Residential zones. You can park there for an hour, sometimes two, as marked.
Garages. There is a garage behind our building, accessible from Hutson or John Streets. $2 for the first hour, $1 an hour after that.
A ticket at a meter is $14. A ticket in a residential zone is $40. Same with loading zones.
