Thurs. Apr. 16, 5:30 – 8 pm, during the Upper King Design Walk. Suzanne Latsko and Dianne Shaver will sign copies of Bride’s Advisor Charleston, (hb, $45)  Note: we do not allow rice to be thrown at weddings or other store events. Because birds eat it and explode. The same policy applies to tossing tiny sticks of lit dynamite.

Thurs. Apr. 16, 5:30 – 8 pm, during the Upper King Design Walk, across the street at Cupcake Bakery. Leslie Pratt-Thomas will sign copies of Shackles, (hb, $17) written by Marjory Wentworth and illustrated by Leslie.

Mon. Apr. 20, 6:30 – 8 pm, Circular Congregational Church. Peter Brown will give a talk and sign copies of Right Relationship: Building a Whole Earth Economy (pb, $17). The lecture – “Economics without Ecocide” — and reception are sponsored by the Coastal Conservation League, The Sophia Institute and the Lowcountry Center for Humans and Nature.

Brown and co-author Geoffrey Garver, both Quakers, use the core Quaker principle of “right relationship”-interacting in a way that is respectful to all and that aids the common good-as the foundation for a new economic model. BBB will be on hand to sell books. Bring your own tote bag!
