cookbookJoin us for the release party of Hot and Hot Fish Club Cookbook by Chris and Idie Hastings on Mon., Nov. 23, 5 – 7 pm. The party is sponsored by Garden and Gun Magazine. Chris Hastings’ roots are in Pawley’s Island, where his great-great grandfather belonged to a 19th-century epicurean hunt and fish club called Hot and Hot. As the family’s designated “creek boy,” he john-boated the marshes, gathering oysters and shrimp. Since 1995 Chris and his wife Idie have run the beloved Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham. Their first cookbook (Running Press, hb. $35) features 200 recipe, lifestyle menus, and profiles of a dozen local purveyors who supply fresh ingredients to the restaurant.
 
Come join us for a drink and samples of seared foie gras torchon with wild persimmon jam.
